If you are unsure of what it is that you love to do, you’re not alone. It truly amazes me how many people do not know what they love to do. I believe this is directly related to why the rates of stress, anxiety and depression have increased. Take a moment and reflect on your daily activities, are you busy and doing something throughout the entire day? Are you able to just be with you, or do you need to always be doing something?
As a child, can you remember ever saying “I’m bored”? Seeking out an adult to give you an idea of what to do? Being “bored” in fact is a really amazing time that allows you to really connect with yourself and learn how to be with just you. I believe this is a really important lesson that we also need to allow our children to experience. There are far too many circumstances when children are running from one activity to the next and kept extremely busy, or who have some form of an electronic in their sights for entertainment at all times. Being alone and by yourself is not a bad thing, in fact it is quite the opposite, it is a necessity and should be an important part of your daily routine.
Imagine if you were able to start this as a child and be so comfortable with the idea that being by yourself is a great thing? You would be an entirely different person. The best part is that it’s never too late to start! By implementing this practice into your life and your children’s lives, you are already making an amazing change for the future.
Enjoy your time with YOU!
Have a beautiful week!!
